Back over 25 years ago, when I first started making powder horns, the three selections I offered at that time was a main horn, a priming horn and a kit horn. This is the original style kit horn, only with a few improvements. Experience has taught us that there are two things that novice horn builders (and even experienced ones at times) have difficulty in doing. One is drilling a good hole into the cavity of the horn without venting the bottom of the horn. The other is installing the baseplug so that the horn has a smooth fitting, airtight fit. We do both of these things for you, and we select a nice horn as well. These horn kits are left natural shape and a walnut baseplug is installed. It is finished off flush with the horn so that you can finish it off however you like, square, rounded over or domed.. All other items you will need are included: leather strap, birch stopper, brass finial, solid brass nails and complete instructions. Finish it off and use with pride.
